Ah yes “Against future” and “Traditional” definitely mean different things.

I can see them being different. As in, against future is sticking in this exact moment, whereas traditional is trying to return to an earlier period. However, they are both against our goals of reaching the future, so they look the same.

When life sucks, you lower your horizons. You don’t think about next year, you don’t think about tomorrow. You live in the now, because that’s the only time that matters. George Orwell discussed this at length in his book on poverty. He convinced me, it makes sense to live like that when you’ve got nothing. It’s a rational response.
