Talk about the fact the USSR went from a feudal, backwards country to a nuclear superpower large enough to compete with the US in the space race through central planning. You can also mention Cuba and other nations of course, but you might need to specify to your big-brain professor that the USA does literally everything to threaten socialist countries, forcing them to divert resources into their militaries; instead of using them for their economic development. We all know what happens if they don’t.
The genocide thing is just the 600 gorillions meme, just say that the black book of communism is literally insane, far-right propaganda that includes dead soviet soldiers and literal nazis killed during WW2.
