I could use some good stories today friends, especially of the job-quitting variety. What’s the best way you’ve ever quit a job?
Punched a customer
I got several other disaffected engineers to quit at the same time, effectively removing most institutional knowledge about the product we had just designed, leaving behind only the incompetent managers who all ended up either getting fired or quitting shortly after.
I wish I was more ideologically self-aware at the time though, that place would have been a good one to work on unionizing
Not me, but a friend once quit by moonwalking backwards out of the store while giving the double middle finger to her boss. She’s pretty psycho, to be honest, but you can’t deny that she has style.
I didn’t do anything dramatic, but when the virus was relatively new, my UPS facility had a meeting where they brought the entire facility together in a small space so that the new boss could give us all a speech about how much he cared about our safety, while the TV screens displayed information about social distancing and stuff. The same day someone told me that they were implementing a new policy that if you wanted to call in sick, you’d still be expected to report to the facility, and then they’d decide whether you were sick enough. I just gave my supervisor an earful and walked out.
