This is such a clickbait, and it backfired.
The actual point conveyed in the article is that world hunger is beneficial for the rich as it allows to operate sweatshops and employ people under tyrannical conditions over low pay, which is not far from modern slavery. Which is super bad for everyone else, hence world hunger must be stopped and rich should get the taste of their own medicine.
But people did react to the headline, and possibly rightfully so.
I thought “thicc” is almost a compliment nowadays.
It does not equal “obese”, and is more like having thick hips and/or generally being a bit more puffy and cuddly. Which is nice, and Internet appreciates it!
Iirc, he actually said that Linux kernel development should be led by distinguished programmers, and you’re unlikely to become so without decades of making projects that people appreciate. At the same time, he didn’t rule out someone a bit younger could take the place.
There’s no indication they use cameras in there. It’s most likely just a sensor for vape smoke, similar to your common fire alarm.
And if it makes bathrooms a place where everyone can breathe without inhaling nicotine, I’m all for it. This is not a serious privacy concern.
I’d argue that yes, it is, because markets entail private ownership, which goes against the basic notion of socialism
The closest you can get to socialism with the market system is worker’s cooperative - but market forces do not stop accumulation of power in the form of land and capital, as well as mergers and acquisitions. At the end of the day, you just reset capitalism for a while if you give businesses a free reign.
There is motivation to do better - inventors are praised and financially rewarded, and those who successfully apply new tech are too.
Sure, an inventor won’t turn billionaire, but he also won’t run a risk of losing it all trying to apply said invention. Market actually scares many off, it’s not simply a land of opportunities.
Socialism and planned economy, ban on private enterprises
Not only does it aim to stop neverending inequality shift and enshittification, it also helps to save Earth by putting an end to overproduction and bullshit consumerism
