I’ve heard theories that parts of the movie were animated with AI.

There isn’t practically any way of blocking your content from being seen on another platform. It’s an arms race and you’ll always lose. Look at Reddit, they had a whole campaign to kill their API, and most of their quality content is reposted here through bots. If you post something on the internet, there it no way to ensure it doesn’t appear on Threads, where you posted the content originally doesn’t change that fact.

Meta can always profile you from the content you post to the fediverse, and they don’t need Threads to do it. In the fediverse, every upvote, every down vote, every comment, every ban, and everything else is a matter of public record that can be easily queried by anyone without logging in to anything.

Firefox has 2FA extensions. Just remember that if both your authentications are on one device, you’re not getting a huge security boost.

A few weeks ago, on Monday morning, I was looking through a PR I was working on and decided to make a ticket to write a new function that would be super useful for my current work. I then leave for meetings for the day, then come back in the afternoon and find some time to write some code, and lo and behold, I see exactly the function I wanted was already written. I wrote it at 4:00 on Friday, docstring and everything, 72 hours before I wrote a ticket to create the function. Until rereading it, I had no memory of writing it.

You will never be able to take away someone’s license for bad driving if doing so basically makes them unemployable and incapable of taking care of themselves. We need cheap, practical alternatives to cars in order to reduce the impact of bad drivers.

The penguin makes forward progress because it depends on an open-source software stack that continuously improves with time, even if the penguin exerts no effort.

I have a coworker who thinks I’m this guy cuz it’s apparently absurd for us to add the 5 most popular dependencies on the planet to our environment and I’m sentencing us to the doom of dependency hell.
