Do it but use your privileged position to build community structures (unionize lol) and give mutual aid a large spot in your budget. Past the money you need to continue living, just funnel Hella into local anarchist mutual aid groups that do resource distribution to unhoused folks, trust me they really need to funding and are largely run by gutter punks with lots of time and no money.
Northwest U. S. is great and I wouldn’t choose anywhere else, but yeah we’re still fucked as soon as supply chains collapse and we need to rely on local farming (not happening) and the govt is still run by liberal fascists with no concern for a struggling population.
Might be pricy but the best leftist wall art is buying from local bipoc, just search up your town then art on Instagram.
That’s OK! I don’t think anyone is feeling burdened or that they’re “wasting” advice, I’d say most people that try in help in that way love sharing their experiences with overcoming obstacles! -that is the thing though when ppl give advice online it’s probably their own POV and if they don’t know your situation they’re very likely to gloss over a thing or two that may be important to you. Just keep seeking input and slowly the right combination of advice will spark a self realization. You’re worthy in this fd up world and change rarely happens suddenly.
Have fun and express your style in a way that makes you feel comfortable. I love thrifting too and if you can, accessorize a little. In a work environment it gives people a talking point and makes ya stand out even if your fit is basic. A cool bag, bright coat, silver jewelry, hat with vintage local sports team. Take the comments well! Oh yeah I picked it up recently, do you like thrifting too?
If there’s a class that holds too much power, nerf it
Just go on Instagram and look up (your city) mutual aid. A great way to find your own skills that you can contribute and work it into a larger structure. Offer to make canva posts to fundraise for unhoused ppl other comrades reach out to. If you have a car you can move unhoused ppls stuff when they get evicted or deliver supplies.
Live off the interest and devote your 40 hr work week to do mutual aid and community building. Hand out supplies and food daily to get to know your unhoused neighbors and distribute leftist pamphlets that encourage organizing.
Find local mutual aid groups on Instagram, you can donate directly to them or typically they repost the venmos of unhoused and marginalized individuals. This is the most direct form of aid you can do with your dollars aside from going out and distributing supplies yourself.
