I’ve never really understood the intense desire to create a biological kid. For a lot of couples it really does seem like “we want to see what we would look like mixed together” which almost seems narcissistic? But I’ve never raised kids and have barely thought about having a “family” someday so maybe I’m just missing something.

There’s nothing wrong with that, I’d just let them know in a note (which I think you’re able to do?) that you’ll be tipping at the door.
