They don’t have to choose, it depends on what species they are working with. If they want to make a wine they have to plant a wine specific specie, if they want grapes for direct consumption it’s a whole other specie.
Vinyards are quite an investment, it takes often more than 5 years to produce anything, so you better be sure that you are working with the right plants!
Also usually the vines are clones (for consistent wine taste) and so you can lose a whole vinyard if that specific individual genus is susceptible to a passing disease (since the clones all have the same genus, they are ALL IN DANGER!!!)

Honestly I have less and less love for videogames that streamlined the gameplay into a cookie cutter trope.
I noticed having way more fun when playing indie games because you never escape the wierd shit develloped industry free from the general gamplay loops.
We used to have an angel of death once you hit a certain number of negative hit points, like you would lose you intestines or a limb that would have a negative effect that would stay until a regeneration spell was cast

Personally I enjoy their antics, I prefer their brand to the one of the right wing circle jerk and if they manage to impede theirs I am more than fine about them.
