Well, if we look at that with their logic, showing the popular shit makes sense, because it’s, well, popular, safe choice. The problem is, and they either ignore it or encourage it, that the algorithm promotes the most terrible things because the metrics is engaging and hate is as engaging, if not more, as other forms, and produces strong reactions.
Rimworld. It’s not a game for me at this point, it’s a drug that I have to take from time to time, and it takes all of your free time like a good drug would.
There are others with that effect for me, like modded Minecraft, or Factorio, or Satisfactory, or Hitman, or Skyrim, but nothing is that severe.
That’s the thing, everything that I could find is a huge project made for storing huge projects, costs a lot of money and requires effort to install and even use. Yeah, naked git basically stores new version of an image for every commit, but nothing beats the fact that you need like two commands to use it and it just works, and storage is very cheap this days. And if you add LFS, it even does some kind of storage compression.
I find that zsh with plugins makes my life very easy. And if I need to quickly find something, fzf works wonders
