OBJECTION!
- If someone claims something happened on the fediverse without providing a link, they’re lying.
- Downvotes mean I’m right.
- It’s always Zenz. Every time.
There are three types of takes out in the trenches. Standard “tankie” takes, standard “vote blue no matter who” shitlib takes, and bizarre, idiosyncratic takes that exactly one person on earth believes, but which they’ll treat as the most obvious thing in the world.
Most recently, I was informed that Marxism is not worth studying on the basis that Marx culturally appropriated communism from indigenous Australians. PugJesus, one of the most prolific shitlib posters, has some great material on Marxism too.
The bizarre, ideosyncratic takes always seem to circle back around to, “And that’s why you should vote blue no matter who, also China and Russia are committing genocide,” but they spice things up and you get to play this fun little game of trying to decipher the brainworms while they yell at you.
Shroedinger’s Russian nuclear arsenal. When there’s a story about risking escalation, libs tell me it’s fine because Russia doesn’t have the money to maintain its nukes, so it’d only be a “limited” nuclear exchange. When this story comes out, the libs tell me that Russia has a much larger and better maintained nuclear stockpile, so it’s only necessary for the US to spend more on it to catch up. It’s sort of the same way that Russia simultaneously is on the verge of defeat, yet also has the intention and capability to conquer all of Europe, like Hitler, if we don’t stop him here.
The enemy is both strong and weak, and you never know which one it’s gonna be.
What’s the historical significance of Tiananmen Square? People sure seem to like talking about it, but personally I don’t really see why it warrants so much attention, in the grand scheme of things.
YES
My understanding is that a tankie is defined as someone who seeks to promote global peace, understanding, and equality, with nuanced views that incorporate marginalized and international perspectives, grounded in historical evidence.
That’s how I see it used anyway.
Getting banned because a .world mod lost an argument to you gang
I’ve pretty much given up on trying to argue with them. I got ratio’d hard for saying that Biden pulling out of Afghanistan was good, actually. If they can’t even bring themselves to accept such a stance when it would benefit them because the news said it was bad, then I think it’s just completely impossible to find traction. They neither have any sort of skepticism towards the media nor any problem with any war ever. These people belong on r/neoliberal.
You know you’re cooked when Bill Kristol is going around like, “Hey, shouldn’t you be running a more progressive campaign to turn out more voters?”
I hate this fucking country.
