Yes I did see the bulletins, they look to be really well put together. When I first read the bulletin I was surprised as I had actually been hearing the exact same information as was posted, but then I realized that’s because I’ve been getting the bulk of my news from a source that @SeventyTwoTrillion references in his posts, namely Alex Mercouris on youtube. He’s a lib but at least he has an actual brain when it comes to ukraine, russia, nato, the global economy, etc.
Interesting. On first glace at bmf’s account I thought they look like a bot that just generates posts from analyzing text found on the site.
and theres one leftcom who comes in occasionally and posts enormous walls of text about the real movement to abolish the present state of things and ruthless critique of all that exists etc etc and then just calls everyone else fake marxists until they get banned
classic
All the libs are getting super buttmad about the sanctity of free software proselytism (they never comment on posts and only post tech news) and the 5 lib-adjacent anarchists are calling everyone who disagrees with them authoritarian and would prefer to go back to not talking to each other and commenting once a week.
lmfao
Somehow they think the Marxists are going to destroy the site when they’re the only ones actually using it as intended. They really could work on their sectarianism/people skills though.
Very funny but also extremely true. If only some GenZedongers put as much effort into finding unity and collective purpose with their fellow leftists as they did posting shitpost dunks on anarchists. And this is coming from someone who leans ML
There’s a monthly bookclub on /c/literature
Excellent, thank you. I thought I remembered such a comm but I was looking for “reading” and “books” and couldn’t find anything lol.
Intentional struggle sessions are quarantined to /c/strugglesession and I think the biggest outcome was that we stopped thinking we should act as a lifeboat/backup for reddit communities when they get banned but still welcome their users on a general basis, which is what we did during GZD getting quarantined and worked out better
I am so very glad to hear this. I have always stuck by the principal that this community will only succeed if we prioritize the needs of current community members over those of prospective members (usually coming from banned reddit communities). Growth is only useful if the community remains stable. It is a very bad thing IMO when there is a loss of long-time members who feel pushed out by floods of new members who don’t have an understanding of the culture of the community they are entering. I’m glad that the attitude around this has changed and it makes me very optimistic about the longevity and slow-but-steady growth of the site.
