Thank you! I followed 196 over here from Reddit when it moved and I appreciate you reaffirming its principles. I think the move to Lemmy paradoxically gave 196 more visibility to people who don’t necessarily agree with those principles because its posts wind up so prominent on All, especially in smaller instances. It’s kind of hilarious how many posts I’ve seen asking why people on Lemmy say “rule” all the time 😂
Edit: in closing, fuck transphobes
That one in the bottom right looks a bit dense for me.
Wireframe 3D graphics like this did exist in 1983. It’s why it’s a visual aesthetic of that time period; it was the cutting edge of technology. The glow effect could be accomplished at that time by printing the rendered wireframe on a transparent sheet, then backlighting it and photographing it. That’s how they did the glowing effects in each frame of footage in the original TRON, which also showcases cutting edge 3D graphics from this time period.
I actually enjoy content from several of these repost bots and have submitted subs to repost. I think Lemmy is great, but it still is far behind in niche content. I think the bots are a great way of offering the content that’s missing vs Reddit. My only alternative would be going back to Reddit, which I don’t want to do. The whole reason I’m on Lemm.ee is its anti-defederation stance.
