So there was a gay bashing murder done back in Belgium in one of my family member’s city, apparently a bunch of white teenagers just lured this guy over Grindr to specifically kill him. My brother just assumed it was muslims because anti-Moroccan rhetoric is extremely common in Belgium, which is only fastened because they do commit a lot of crime, but it just never crossed his mind until I mentioned it to him that your average Belgian fucking hates everyone that wasn’t born within 10 miles of him . Like ffs I got harassed by a group of teenagers in that town cause I was walking with another guy from my family.
I feel like my ADD’s only been getting worse since i left high school 7 years ago even with new meds. Like somehow I haven’t been kicked out of college but I really need some massive restructuring of my life. There was a race that was observing humanity 50,000 years before called the Protheans that the series until 3 posited that they were a super enlightened democratic society, until 3 dropped that they were actually marauding imperials who were planning to enslave humanity and the other modern dominant species to fight their fascist wars until they got owned by the Reapers who imo rightly slaughtered them. Humanity accidentally discovered modern day space NATO because they just aggressively activated Mass Effect relays and colonized other planets until they accidentally ran into a turian patrol fleet, immediately attacked them, fought like a 2 month war over nothing, got owned, then got invited to space NATO as one of the shittier races. So PRETTY much how I envision a future confrontation with an alien species assuming we have a united space military headed by the west.
I am course also terminally online, but I can’t imagine the unspeakable levels of Lynchian imagery that must occur on a constant basis in the minds of people that have anime tradcath twitter accounts. I like that every time someone points out how politics like his have made things worse for everybody and that he doesn’t and probably never actually stood for the things he believed in his response is “Um actually I’m making a lot of money to embarrass myself, so who’s the real idiot?” Which I mean, fair enough I guess.
Not knowing very much about Hoxha or anything about Albania actually, reading very briefly just the statement increased literacy from 5% to 95% in about 20 years is one of the like starkest most hopeful stats I’ve seen regarding socialist reforms. If someone can tell me more about Albania, and how its done unbiased since the Soviets fall I’d be very greateful.
As somebody who used to be just like inattentive lib never underestimate young men’s ability to just completely ignore, miss out of inexperience, or just magically reconstruct thematic context. I don’t see a lot of these in particular, outside of weebs just blindly using 2B, but there is some chud with like 10k twitter subs with a 9s avi and I’m just thinking how does anybody reach not just the end of that game but blindly ignore that specific character’s arc and be like “Ah yes, we should work to annihilate minorities who mildly annoy me and women should be forced to have their eyes cut out.”
This map is one of the most disparaging things I’ve seen in a while. Its filled with enough idiotic utopianism to be written by somebody who has no knowledge or stake in real politics, untethered from the expectations of having to uphold liberal boring bureaucracy and the best you can come up is California splitting up with no dramatic effects on American hegemony, China somehow collapsing in 40 years after some magical confrontation with the Koreans, and living for 250 so you can file paperwork on Mars.
