Deadlifting is dramatically different depending if you’re talking to an olympic weightlifter or body builder. Olympic weightlifting is a sport that requires the athlete to have a high degree of mobility, flexibility, and posture control in order to lift the weight overhead. This reduces the chance of injury significantly. In contrast, body building is a sport where the goal is to build muscle mass. This often leads to athletes using poor form in order to lift heavier weights, which dramatically increases the risk of injury.

Be careful out there, I hurt my shoulder about 11 years ago when I was 23 lifting a dumbbell and it still hurts from time to time.

The city could have offered a voucher to service or upgrade their bike but instead they decided to punish people. I wonder how many people depended on those motorbikes to get around and are devastated that they couldn’t just pay a fine and get it back.

My local chain grocery stores sells a single lime for $1.75 but I can drive down the street and get a lime for $0.25. That is an incredible price difference and I want to know which one they are using to measure inflation. It seems maybe inflation is mostly capturing the fact that grocery stores can charge a ton more and people will pay it e.g. what you are saying about price gouging.

The feds were talking about how labor demand was high, and not in equilibrium with supply, so they can bring it back to equilibrium faster by making it slightly more difficult for businesses to borrow money so wages don’t continue to go up. Sure, that makes sense and isn’t horribly cruel. But this guy saying that we need to be cruel to people directly because we need to go back to a time where 10% of people are too poor to shop at the expensive grocery stores and go somewhere cheaper. It’s completely unnecessary.

How will more unemployed people reduce fuel and grain costs that are inflated because of the war in ukraine? It’s like hes parroting a misunderstood fed quote. The feds don’t even want to increase unemployment but rather reduce labor demand which is an entirely different thing.

This. This will make corruption and crime more difficult. If rolled out slowly enough, it wouldn’t increase sex trafficking and lopsided quid pro quo agreements during the transition to a fully digital currency.

I always wonder how much of US currency is used for illicit transactions. You hear stories of storage containers full of US currency and you can never really gauge how much currency is actually in circulation. China may be able to fine tune inflation with monetary policy using actual data instead of just guessing.

Sure our infrastructure is failing but we shouldn’t have overbuilt road infrastructure in the first place. The roads that are actually important get the first cut away, the infra bill is mostly just another way to prop up the suburban way of living. I say good, let it fail and relocate people into cities.

I don’t think people have to explain it to you right away, patience is definitely required. But this advice is good in an academic setting where some teachers are full of shit and don’t really understand what they are teaching but they’ll pass the blame on you for not understanding.

Sorry I’m a bit late getting back to you on this thread. Maybe my rule is too extreme, maybe a better rule would be ‘you don’t always have to apologize for being late’ or ‘you don’t have to apologize right away if you’re late’.
