I mean I have seen a lot of Asian girls only date white guys throughout my life. Certainly not all of them, but a decent percentage. I’d probably chalk it up to societal factors including past colonization, media portrayals of Asian dudes in western culture, etc.
White men aside, do you know how traumatic it is for Asian women to be told they’re only in their relationship because they fetishize their partner’s race?
Well to be fair, I assume it’s just as traumatic to be an asian guy who gets rejected all the time because whenever he asks a girl on a date she says “I’m not just attracted to asian guys.” If a guy grows up his whole life having that notion reinforced, especially by a huge chunk of asian women themselves, I can imagine that to be even more traumatic. I think that was OP’s point if I’m being charitable.
There are real social pressures for the daughters of immigrant populations within the US to marry white men as a vehicle for social mobility
Yeah which is why you’ll see “marrying out” even in high income brackets. The extra social status of having a “white man by your side” adds extra status.
What I notice is that people will unironically support someone like Will Smith, but when pressed on how escalating violence is a bad thing, they’ll retreat to “oh it doesn’t matter why do you care anyways?” Or what’s worse, they’ll double down and say how they would “throw down” or whatever in real life, which I highly doubt. There’s no way they’d be that stupid to risk going to jail just cuz someone insulted their momma or whatever. Or risk getting decked by someone much bigger or stronger than them.
Uh didn’t ancient Egypt still have pretty “traditional” gender roles? Not sure what this meme is trying to say
