Is this place still a lemmy project that’s run on activitypub, and/or is this ever going to federated with other lemmy servers?

I love the Explainer Mode™ people go into for these mind numbingly stupid analogies. There’s nothing so stupid that you can’t go into Explainer Mode to put yourself in the headspace of feeling like you’re making a nuanced point that nobody other than you understand.

I think you’re exactly right. And I think that’s being done with racism too. There are lots of ways to meme that can’t be easily diagnosed as overt racism or sexism, that still serve to reinforce racist and sexist attitudes because they fall in these in between spaces.

I just linked to the playable demo on steam so I’m aware of the demo and aware they are developing it. I get the monthly emails. It has slowed to a snail’s crawl and now does not have a timeline or a double barreled development effort on track to be done any time soon. The shifting between engines is the same thing that happened to Duke Nukem Forever when it got stuck in development hell.

The System Shock 1 remaster which was originally going to be released Decembe 2017.

And, apparently, System Shock 3 may now be dead. It was going to be developed by Warren Spector, who made the original Deus Ex.

It would be nice if there’s a federated facebook alternative that isn’t brutally awful. I know Friendica, diaspora, hubzilla, and GNUsocial exist but they are all bad.

I would think it it’s at least one better than not doing something and just having to sit with it. Do you think it’s specific to any kind of moment or situation or anything like that?

edit: had to use bit.ly link instead of the direct youtube link because of the content filter.

Michael Moore, Glenn Greenwald, and Noam Chomsky (while imperfect) are actually really, really, really good.

Didn’t realize that was an unpopular opinion. You’re right though imo.
