I genuinely think part of it is that if Westerners recognized that what is currently going on is genocide, they’d have to recognize that their ancestors committed genocide by spreading smallpox etc. They’d rather remain in denial.

Also like 700 people worldwide died and we were talking about it for years.

Now covid has killed well over a million people and you barely hear a peep. It’s incredible.

The good news is the power will probably go out permanently before most of that shit works.

TBH things were pretty fucked before covid too so uhhh welcome to the cult I guess. It’s not very much fun, but people tell me I’m wrong less now than they did before 2020.

This is something of a conspiracy theory, but personally I think a lot of what’s going on is most members of the ruling class truly believe in overpopulation/Malthusianism and aren’t just happy to watch working people die, but actively encourage it.

It’s just different. People have always had pen pals and things like that.

You’re not necessarily wrong I just think this is a kind of… needlessly negative perspective on the situation.
