Actually after reading the context, I don’t agree with OP at all. I want more places to have Te Reo names, and I want people who dislike it to complain so they can be shut down. I love Te Reo and I want to defend it.

Agreed. Defederation is a last resort. Let’s not be our own circlejerk.

I like having an instance that isn’t defederated from too much (except CSAM) because I enjoy being able to see and subscribe to what I want. Hexbear is a shitty place, but I don’t like the idea of defederating because my feewings got hurt. I would prefer defederating because it’s a legal/human rights necessity.

Crystal caves, doom, Duke nukem 1, commander keen… the incredible machihe, legend of kyrandia. Those are the earliest games I can remember playing. Fuck crystal caves I spent way too much time trying to beat that game.

Seems like there is active work on improving search with nextcloud.

I’ve never heard of it before this.

I use Mega. It has a search function. No idea how fast it would be in your use case though.

Not open source though.

Other suggestions for months without significance:

Haast eagle, moa, other native birds

Tane Mahuta and native bush

Maybe feature small towns around NZ? Or interesting locations, like the toilets in Kawakawa, Rotorua museum, or Te Puia…

Maybe Ruapehu or Taranaki since they will have snow right now.
