I get that it’s exploitative cause it’s adding employment relationships to NFT bullshit, but at a very literal level what is being produced here?

Having tried this line with NIMBYs multiple times, I can confirm that this is only effective when it benefits the person making $300k.

Managerial type ppl don’t just need control, they also need the feeling of control. I don’t think they think of themselves in a bullshit jobs scenario, I think the feelings of responsibility and sunk cost (?) to upper mgmt keep them stressed enough. like at my old job (I got fired) I would just hide from my boss and only communicate with them like once a week or so and it stressed them the fuck out cause how are you gonna pressure me to do unpaid overtime or even my normal hours online? I can just turn off my computer, like literally.

Also unrelatedly I think there’s a school / childcare expensive / parenting from home - type thing which wasn’t a thing for managerial class ppl until the pandemic forced it to be. Kinda not a thing anymore though so idk.

a couple years ago I remember being like “idk, only a matter of time, pretty much everyone i know is some kinda communist. both capitalism and neoliberalism seem to be crumbling rapidly all around us.” to now being like “wow everyone i know needs to read The Wretched of the Earth immediately”

From personal experience it’s because ppl didn’t read the book and are thinking about stuff closer to home. I would be lucky to have skimmed the sparknotes for most books in hs. It’s embarrassing to not know and get told off by teachers for it so it’s easier to just repeat some words and then “hmm, oh ok” when they explain it. Papers idk, maybe it’s just too depressing and pointless to fail a third of the class.
