If the Democrats had, say a53-47 advantage, it wouldn’t just be Manchin. It would be Manchin, Sinema, Ossoff, and Feinstein. If any liberal tries to defend the party as a whole because of Manchin, literally ask them why Biden isn’t berating him in public speeches like Trump did with GOP senators, or why other senators aren’t bullying him. They wont have an answer.
and to think I was actually conflicted about voting for this freak or not. I legit think I would have lost sleep by now if I ended up filling in Joes name.
Amtrak isn’t even amazing (although maybe better than what youd expect from America), and I still get super excited to take a long distance train. Its so relaxing. The last time I was on one was when I took a train from PA to Mass. to knock doors for Bernie, and it was two 7 hour rides but I loved it. You can read, you can listen to music, you can sleep; you can actually see scenery, unlike planes. Theyre so fun!
I read The Shock Doctrine in 2017 or so during my transition from Liberal to leftist. I was kind of aware of some of the stuff that the book goes into, but just right off the bat the detail that Klein went into regarding the lead up to the 1973 Chilean coup was pretty harrowing.
That was the turning point when I went from thinking the US would be fine if we just had healthcare and a better safety net to realizing that the country was just irredeemably evil.
I’ve been listening regularly since 2016 and I dont even recognize most of these. Who has this much time. Listen to the episode and move on
I was very into brands as a kid (dont ask) and I remember this commercial fondly
