What’s your opinion on Chris Date and TutorialD?
UK is a weird place, I remember I’ve met an Evangelical Protestant dude who voted Labour, because “I just vote for whatever benefits the needy”.
I once had a dream that I was watching Babylon 5 with my friends, but it was Chapo Trap House movie commentary version, with podcast hosts commenting on the events in the story. Eventually my friends turned around to me and said they can’t be friends with me anymore, because they didn’t appreciate Felix’s constant tangentials about Hezbollah.
It took me a while to realize just how detached from reality these “LGBT rights are boutique privileged issues that distract the working class from class struggle” or “having tertiary education = middle-class champagne socialist” are. Most of my left-wing and/or queer friends live in poverty, even if they sometimes don’t think they do.
It’s like people fall into this fallacy, where when they hear “working class”, they instantly image a specific stereotypical image of what counts as “working class” (something like this guy), but never actually reflect who really is working class. And then we get people saying “working class voted for Trump”, forgetting, e.g., exit poll data that shows that the median income of a Trump voter is higher than that of, say, Bernie voter, which in turn is higher than median income overall, which confirms what we all know: poor people don’t vote.
When I was in my late teens, I used to frequent Russian antifascist forums, and got so used to identifying Nazi symbolism, that my brain got into an overdrive and sees 14/88 and swastikas everywhere. So yeah, fuck those Sicilians.
I haven’t read it either, English is not my native language, and I gave up on his neologisms after page 15 or something, but I remember reading a comment on Reddit saying it people should be coerced to read it before participating in society or some shit. So obnoxious, holy crap.
