Sad about how the US-Mexico border has been militarized, or increasingly militarized, in my lifetime

They used to just ask your name and hardly check your ID (no passport needed)…and it was pretty easy to get across undocumented walking through the main checkpoints, especially with a group of gabacho friends

9/11 was the nail in that coffin and it’s only gotten worse
