I know Foreign Policy isn’t their actual internal stance, but this is not a great take on Palestine by the CPC Propaganda department organ.

That’s true, and I’m not cancelling the entire CPC over a single crappy take. But it was a full article with a frankly offensive comic and critique was warranted imo.
And the China Daily is closer to the party line than, say, the SCMP. It generally is a good guide of the CPCs general stance, if not their detailed internal policy. I’ve used them in the past to illustrate where the CPC and other Chinese media might disagree.
I mean, if you write “China bad” it kinda sounds like you’re doing the usual radlib thing of “This one thing about China bad so you cant support it while wanting it to improve”. Like yeah its a dumb meme or whatever but its easy for people to just assume this is the usual bad faith.
