I remember one time as a kid, trying to grapple with the concept of death and mortality, I had a thought that maybe nobody actually dies in their life that they personally experience, but rather people only die in other people’s “version of the film,” so to speak.

I’m not sure why as a child I was comforted by the thought that everybody was essentially trapped eternally in their own reality as everyone they love both dies around them, yet also exists apart from them, forever unreachable. Probably didn’t catch that implication.
