The real TL;DR is that 5G is being used as an excuse to completely dismantle any telecom regulation protecting consumers, while dismissing those trying to stop the deregulatory free for all as luddite crackpots.

I highly recommend listening to TrueAnon’s 5G episode. The novel threat of 5G isn’t that it’s going to used by the empire for military purposes. All new technologies get used for that. The truth about 5G is that it’s almost all hype that very few people in the telecommunications industry actually believe will accomplish what the press releases say it will accomplish, but it is going to be a financial windfall for the companies involved due to naked efforts of the the federal government to quash local and community restrictions on things like tower placement, and 5G conspiracies get used to handwave away any questioning of the narrative that “5G is going to be good for everyone and we must get it as fast as possible.”
