No, domestically raised pigs taste different from feral hogs. Their diet is different, their lifestyles are different. If you had any hunters in your family you’d know wild game can have a very particular taste which many people do not like at all. But my money is on you’ve never eaten a non-farm raised animal, much less ever killed your own food.

Most urban people have no idea where food comes from. It just magically appears at the store and they have no idea the effort it took to get there and no desire to investigate. For people who pride themselves on intellectual curiosity it’s one area where their curiosity disappears. Indeed, farmers are looked down upon as people of the soil, an outdated concept we moved on from as a society long ago.

“Unlike you, who pays others to murder, I do all the murdering myself!” Not exactly something to brag about, comrade.

Murder is killing of humans. And yes, if you’re going to eat meat, I think you should be forced to kill it yourself. Buying packages from the grocery store in nice styrofoam packages takes all the blood and tendons out of it. When you aim and shoot an animal, and then have to butcher it yourself, getting blood caked all over your hands and accidentally cutting open an intestine and smelling a truck stop bathroom in August, you understand what meat actually means. I think it would be really good for vegetarianism, frankly.
