Chinese IDs all follow a standard format (i.e. these digits are date of birth, these other ones are the province you live in, etc) so you can basically just make a random ID that could theoretically be a person and it’ll usually let you in. Online restrictions in general are not new and kids are clever.

Pretty sure they do an ID check. Considering this is national policy, I wouldn’t be surprised if they literally matched the user to a database of Chinese citizens or something. I’m talking out my ass though so I may be completely wrong lol
