Right. But I’m looking for an example of capital helping in the short term at their own detriment in the long term. Preferably an example that relates to the health and well being of the proletariat.

Well, you said that “Capital’s interests on your productive labor happen to coincide with your interest to not die a horrible death” (in the short term), and that because of that capital wouldn’t suppress an un-patented covid cure in order to push their own proprietary cure. So I guess I’m looking for a comparable example.
Wages seems pretty far removed from that and in the case of self regulation the motivation is to avoid further regulation, helping the worker is only a side benefit.
