I go back and forth a lot between thinking people are losing faith in U.S. systems in record time, and thinking that I’m making up libidinal fantasies and overestimating the speed or extent of that loss of faith.

So what do you all think?

what would an american legitimacy crisis even look like? the default american position for democrats, conservatives, libertarians, leftists, apoliticals, is to not expect anything from the government. i could see conservative state governors increasingly ignoring the orders of the federal government, except the supreme court will just sign off on whatever it is they want to do so dems will accept it too.

I’m not saying we have no faith left to lose, but i don’t really know where it is.
