What is the correct use of gaslighting?

I see a ton of people on this site scream about libs using this word wrong. So what actually is the definition of this word, how is it supposed to be used? I looked it up once and became even more confused

There is no meaning of “gaslighting”. Are you sure that’s even a real word? You’re just imagining things, aren’t you?
