I keep trying to work in the non-profit sector because… idk… I guess I want to give back and also not get shit on by my fellow leftists for being a corporate loser or whatever.
But it’s always a frigging mess. Totally disorganized, rude and arrogant people, lots of gatekeeping, and operations that–while obviously better than nothing–are not nearly as effective as they could be if people were minimally competent.
So, comrades… why is this? Is this a bad sign for our ability to organize and do good? And why shouldn’t my takeaway be that I’m better off just making as much money as I can and giving away whatever I don’t actually need?
