Imagine being the richest country on earth and still getting outspent by the UK on what will become one of the most important technologies of the century lmao.

Doesn’t take into account private funding of course, which should easily be somewhere in the billions of dollars for the US, but it’s still hilarious to see how short sighted the US ruling class is, as evidenced by how they’re barely throwing any of the vast resources of the US empire behind this. They could be absolutely destroying other countries in quantum research, but they’re not.
