Conservatives are socially allowed to believe whatever batshit thing they want, but since they’re all watching the same media and aren’t very original, they tend to all come up with the same basic ideas. And the media they watch is designed to manipulate uneducated people into voting Republican so it really leans into conspiracy thinking to keep the hogs seething.
