i’m demi aroace!!
it took me a while to figure out the labeling, but it makes sense – i’ve lived this way much all my dating life; it takes me like, literally half a year to develop a strong bond with someone, and that’s still a maybe. And it can’t be interrupted, or else it’ll have to start over.
I can be comfortable flirting, but intimacy takes time. My trust takes a lot of work to build.
I can develop loving feelings for people, given time.
I do get “crush” feelings, but I think they are extremely impulse related. Like I want attention, and will seek it out. And then I will be like “just verbal praise but nothing else, ty.”
So I recognize that and actively temper my crushing :p If they end up being trustworthy I’ll get the attention I want anyways!
