There can never be anything to stop you from downloading NFT art since you need to be served the file in order to view it.

Code is Law so long as the other code it’s interacting with is compatible and it has no exploitable flaws at any step in any protocol and everything it touches is equally confined to the blockchain it exists inside and the chain doesn’t fork
