Firstly the Russians weren’t murdering and raping every civilian in sight (if they were, there wouldn’t be that famous video of a Ukraine granny telling a Russian soldier she wants him to die), second, US troops did murder and rape tons of civilians and lots of them got away with it. The Haditha massacre saw the perpetrators get a mere demotion and paycut, not capital punishment, not a dishonorable discharge, just a demotion and paycut. Then there was that time a group of soldiers raped a young girl and murdered her family and then apparently raped her corpse after killing her (they were punished in court, but guess what: Russian soldiers are also legally held accountable for war crimes, which never gets mentioned). One soldier revealed that when he saw his friends leave that night that he thought they were just going out to beat up Iraqi guys to relieve stress, because that’s normal to them. Soldiers also revealed the rules of engagement at the start of the conflict were a joke, they were literally allowed to shoot anyone who looked at them funny because they could use the argument of perceived threat. They literally also stopped counting civilian casualties, for whatever worth it was after that scumbag Obama changed the classification of who gets to be considered a civilian and who gets to be considered a suspected terrorist.
