In my head, the balkanization will come over this if the dems try to codify these things into law and then have to force the red states into submission after they’ve been given the freedom to crack down on it. That would be a major propaganda moment for the red state fash to build up a mandate. But I don’t expect the dems to do anything, so my money is still on balkanization over resources (like we started to see with the ppe) or climate change refugees.
