Assume it seems there is no evidence of other life or intelligent life outside Earth more complex then a bacteria. Humans no longer exploit other animals for food or labor. And say it was possible to do it with direct genetic modification and once the species has near human equivalent intelligence it is given full control over it’s own directed evolution as well as full sovereignty, control over it’s own cultural development as well as resources/land/space colonies to use as they see fit.
