Omg, X com did not ‘become PayPal’ it was bought out because it was a potential competitor for Paypal, despite the fact that the program they developed never actually worked properly, and could never scale. They were bought out because it was easier than fighting a legal battle, not because they actually contributed anything of value. Silicon Valley continues to be more or less one continuous grift.
