Mao will probably slide, mainly because i asked a friend that got invited to DALL-E 2 for a Mao piece and it worked no problem.

Two things:

  1. The former USSR, has, for the most part, repudiated him. Unlike Mao, Stalin is not a national hero.
  2. He’s Russian (Georgian, actually, but whatever), and that’s not politically correct right now.

i actually have no clue why, i have a working theory that it might be due to the sudden wave of ‘‘haha hurr John Xina!!’’ and other mao-related memes, but i have nothing to prove it so don’t take my word for it
