IDK, it used to be a different flavor of terrible. Not explicitly rightwing, more of a “everyone’s fine as long as you constantly shit on everyone else for fun” way.

back in 2006 it was all about shitting on conservatives, burgeoning "SJW"s (the acronym didn’t exist yet), christian pearl clutching mothers, weeaboos, emos, and black people.
The problem is that all the aforementioned ones were made fun of for non-racial characteristics, as opposed to being made fun of for being “black people”
4chan never made explicit fun of white people for “being white”. And if you do that these days, you get banned from many boards. Maybe back in the day it was actually free speech, but it certainly isn’t now.
