Iraq stand-in

The original Modern Warfare took place in a post-revolutionary Saudi Arabia which unified with Iraq and Kuwait.

There’s a cinematic mission were you are a traitor of the revolution and you get shoot by the secundary villain of the game.

For some reason (racism and islamophobia i guess) the OpFor is also present in Afghanistan in the sequel.

I think they don’t even care to mention it in game, they just show random middle-eastern and russian locations with some narration.
