Even if you entertain this idea, we let adults smoke cigarettes and do all kinds of dumb surgeries that we don’t let kids do. Nonsensical argument.
This argument requires rolling back to the old DSM assessment that being trans is a mental illness in order to justify it. So I expect they will target that eventually.
Intervening with people who are mentally compromised is considered morally justified and is a simple path to achieving it.
A lot of the battle over trans people comes down to the previous notion that it was a mental illness vs the newer updated view of it. If the pillar can be upheld that trans people aren’t mentally ill for long enough then the new pillar will replace it and eventually normalise, they don’t want that.
No you see they simply have to be face-deep in absolutely everyone’s business to make sure nobody is self-expressing in a way that makes them feel doubt about the wasted lives of repression they’ve led. It’s their job. You could say it’s their burden…
