True. But it definitely takes a special kind of white person to be in an evangelical church for 20 years, IDK where you’re from but at least here even some of the worst people don’t go to that level. As I said, there’s a healthy majority of NDP voters over conservatives, and a majority of libs over NDP, and no libs or NDP would ever stoop to conversion therapy levels
Honestly, NDP is not nearly as bad. Lib party is filled with trudeau types, so it’s bad, but NDP has some nice people that actually want to do way more than the libs. Our NDP MPP attended a climate protest a year or so ago and talked about how it was global capitalism’s fault and how we needed to confront it. So honestly, while there is a range between socdems and demsocs in the party, it really is not the worst people and I’d be happy to have an NDP PM
The NDP has no ideological foundation beyond the party that is a bit left of the Liberal party, let alone a Marxist foundation. Socialism was dropped from the official party platform as soon as it wasn’t fashionable. Even if they were committed socialism and combating imperialism and neoliberalism, which it’s obvious that they aren’t, it is not even a remotely militant party and would fold under the pressure from national and international bourgeoisie faster than you could say opportunism.
