I just finished cackling like a loon over how incredibly elevated my new chair is capable of being. For reference, I’m bent almost to the waist just to type with a normal arm and hand position. This chair can go fucking high and it is very silly.
There’s that old song by Rick Springfield called Jessie’s Girl. This is basically a joke that only I laugh at because it’s too much explanation. It’s a song about a dude pining for his friend’s girlfriend.
Anyway, here are the lyrics (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYkbTyHXwbs):
Yeah, I know, he's been a good friend of mine
But lately something's changed that ain't hard to define
Jessie's got himself a girl and I want to make her mine
And she's watching him with those eyes
And she's loving him with that body, I just know it
Yeah, and he's holding her in his arms late, late at night
You know, I wish that I had
Jessie's girl
I wish that I had Jessie's girl
Where can I find a woman like that?
So what’s so funny? I cannot get my own remixed version of the song out of my head and every time I hear it or think of the song I change the lyric to
You know I wish that I was Jessie's girl
I wish that I was Jessie's girl
Why can't I be a woman like that?
In my head canon this changes the meaning from wanting to get with your homie’s girl to a gender bendy journey, wishing to transition MtF. The mundane factor comes in from the joke not being very good, but it hasn’t stopped me from giggling about it for a few years!
