Supposed to get up to two inches of straight ice plus snow after. Being told to prepare for a week maybe two without power.
Been prepping for a while and I think I’m ready but two solid weeks will be longest I’ve gone without power. Roads around here are pretty well taken care of but there are a lot of small back roads I have to take to get out of my place, so they should be closed for three maybe four days. So really just a test not worried except about running out of stuff to read. Still it will be interesting to really find out where I’m under prepared.
you said you’ve got a little stream, make a cover for at least part of it.
even just a lean-to stuck in the far side with supports on the near side will keep it flowing and clear. if you have the time, materials and inclination to put together a “stream house” (instead of spring house) that’ll let you keep critters out and use it as a makeshift refrigerator.
long term, the electric well pump is something i’m looking at getting better about too. if it runs off your breaker panel they make switchable breakers that let a circuit be disconnected from the mains and run by something else. that’ll give you the flexibility to plug a car battery and inverter up to it if you really wanna run it.

I’ll definitely look into that being water seems to be my biggest weakness at the moment. I really want solar but that’s expensive as hell and with a storm like this I doubt they would even really function.
