Edit: I think a Ferris Bueller’s Day Off set in the USSR could work. Novosibirsk in Siberia is the third-largest city so is the stand-in for Chicago. Ferris would interrupt a parade celebrating the anniversary of winning the Great Patriotic War, this time singing The Internationale on top of a T-34.
And Cameron would be concerned the entire film about the bourgeoisie decadence of joyriding his family’s IZh 2125 Kombi and skipping out on their studies instead of driving his dad’s Porsche without asking. Gorbachev would be the evil vice principal.
