Considering this is Nepal, I’m expecting this to last 5 months before another split occurs in the communist parties and he’s replaced by another communist
Nepal is underdiscussed on the left, given the prominence and electoral success of communists there.
i mean they had a pretty whacky left wing revolution prior to this. i dont know why they didnt just make their own government but theyre doing the parliamentary thing i guess :shrug-outta-hecks:
iirc they did the whole surrounding cities from the countryside and took an early deal to be allowed into government where they won a massive electoral victory. they then deposed the monarchy through the parliamentary system. they were mostly fighting cops and were worried about fighting the army afaik so it wasnt a full scale civil war with a complete win for either side. as part of the peace agreement the guerilla forces were incorporated into the state military and were given immunity to firings and imprisonment iirc
as a result there are a lot of libs in the government and full control of the communist parties was avoided and theyre stuck in a gridlock. i wouldnt be surprised if there is a second revolution. i guess the reason they took the early deal is they were worried of a long term deadly civil war with the military and wanted the quick win
