uh “Even experts make mistakes” and then referencing a CIA op where they didn’t even buy the phones anonymously , without providing any detail, just makes it seems like the author wants to scare people

wish people were more familiar with the idea of defense-in-depth. you’re safer from mistakes if you’ve taken steps to protect yourself at every level than if you assume you’re safe because you took precautions at one level (however completely).
