View all comments I think there’s something to be said about how veganism has mostly been subsumed by liberal politics and turned into a consumption thing, even going so far as to say that many vegans don’t really understand it as a political position. The lack of theoretical development in the broader vegan movement severely restricts our practical work which is why individual evangelizing still seems to be the primary method of spreading veganism. The answer to this issue obviously isn’t to abandon veganism though, it’s to build a revolutionary vegan/animal lib movement that recognizes control over production, not consumption, is how we end animal agriculture and that mass organization, revolutionary action, and a popular front are how we reach that.
